Every blog has got one. But, let me just state something right now…
About Pages Are Hard to Write
There, I said it. Because of that, I’m not going write an about me page. I can’t think that anyone who doesn’t know me cares what I’d write in it, and the people who do know me already know everything I’d write anyway. So I’m not going to do it.
Instead, I’ll try to answer the question that must be on everybody’s mind:
“Why Did You Start This Blog?”
That’s kind of a hard question to answer really. I guess I don’t know. I’ve tried to have a blog before. I even got some link juice on Google because of a fortunate spelling error on my part. But, it never really worked out and I ended up deleting the whole thing. Blogging is even harder than writing an about page. Such a commitment! So why am I trying again? I blame peer-pressure from the rest of my family. Everyone seems to be having so much fun.
Every Blog Needs a Purpose
One of my favorite blogs is called French Laundry at Home. It’s a lady who decided that she would go through the entire French Laundry Cookbook one horribly complicated and hard-to-pronounce recipe at a time and blog the whole way through. What a great idea for a blog, right? So, I decided that to make it more likely that I’ll post regularly, I’d have to have some sort of ongoing theme like that.
Except I really can’t (and don’t want to) cook my way through any cookbooks, least of all that one…
Room With A View
Instead, I decided I’ll use this blog to post a picture of the view from every hotel room I stay in. Probably not quite as inspired an idea as the French Laundry at Home, but pretty good nonetheless. It should generate about 5 posts a month I’d say. I’ll probably also post some other crap too.
Now, who wants to take bets on how long I’ll actually keep this up?
